Now that I have some time on my hand, I called up oXp for a brief outing this evening. We went somewhere else before this, I'm not going to say where so you'll have to wait and see.. that is, if its good enough to post. Hehe!!

The first place we went to didn't really suit me. It's just that I've seen it in a few other blogs and wanted to give it a try for myself. I didn't plan on doing this photo first but since oXp did, I thought I'd do it too.

It was a good experience (I think) for oXp because he wasn't quite sure when the blue hour is. To be honest, when doing a shot during the so called blue hour, I only managed to do one or two sets, one set being two photos for vertorama, because by the third set, the blue tone of the sky has disappeared.

Each photo has about a 20 to 30 second exposure set on it and then takes a few more seconds for it to process in the camera before I can have a quick look through the view finder.. (you still following this?) so basically, if my calculations are correct, two sets of two photos each set will take about 5 to 6 minutes to do.

So the question is, why is it called the blue hour when it only last for about 6 minutes?

I had it tweaked a little. Originally it was something like oXp's version. All I tried to do is get the white areas, in this case its the mosque's tower, to as normal white as I can. I had mine processed in Lightroom (white balance settings) but you can do it on CS3 (color balance) too. Sometimes I think I overdid it (like my previous post on the other mosque), this time it's just right.

I also had the blue saturation tuned up to get a little more 'oomph'.

Thanks man for the compliment.
